Trawick Art Awards

Trawick Prize

The Trawick Prize is a regional Contemporary Art Award funded by Carol Trawick. It is a juried art competition and exhibition established in 2002.  “Best in Show” winner is awarded $10,000, second place, $2,000, and third place $1,000.  A “young artist”, one who is under 30 years of age at the time of submission, is sometimes recognized with a $1,000 award.

 

The Trawick Prize, which was one of the first regional competitions of its kind in the metropolitan area, has received over 3,000 artist submissions over the years. Artists must be 18 years of age or older and residents of Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC. This event takes place in September of each year and is organized by the Bethesda Arts and Entertainment District & Bethesda Urban Partnership.

Bethesda Painting Awards

The Bethesda Painting Awards was established in 2004 and is also funded by Carol Trawick. Similar to The Trawick Prize the Bethesda Painting Awards is a juried art competition that exclusively honors painters from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Prize monies totaling $14,000 are awarded to the top four painters, annually.

Co-Occupant Program

The Co-occupancy program was for small or emerging nonprofits involved in the arts or health and human services. 


The grant stable and affordable space for Mo Co nonprofits, which also allowed for efficiency and collaboration at the Trawick Foundation offices.
